The 2017 British Film Designers Guild Awards, in pictures.
We left this year’s British Designers Guild Awards with our feet aching from dancing, our hands sore from clapping and our heads preparing to throb in the morning, but what a fab night it was!
Pinewood heaved under the weight of film design talent as the great and the good were honoured at the 2017 BFDG Awards held at Heatherden Hall, Pinewood Studios on Saturday the 13th of January 2018.
After a champagne reception and a chance to chat to colleagues and friends in the Hitchcock room, we made our way to the Ballroom, which was spectacularly decorated by award winner Sonja Klaus, for a delicious meal and yet more champagne. The meal was followed by the awards which were again hosted by the charismatic and highly entertaining Peter Walpole. Peter did a fabulous job of welcoming the presenters and winners, despite not having his partner in crime Liz Griffiths on hand (who assures us she will be back soon). Scroll down to see photos of all the glamorous winners on the night.
Once all the awards had been handed out the walls of the Ballroom miraculously disappeared to reveal a dance floor, DJ and late night bar. The guests needed no convincing (ourselves included!) and were straight on the dance floor, heels thrown off with wild abandon, to dance the rest of the night away.
The photos speak for themselves but needless to say, it was a fabulous event and a wonderful time was had by all! Thanks as always to the team at the Guild who organised such a special evening and congratulations to all the winners. Let’s hope 2018 is another successful year for the British film industry and we have even more to celebrate next time.
