While my degree in history gave me the broad strokes of world events, it is the objects that can fit in the palm of your hand that really bring it to life for me.
My previous roles at Bonhams and John Rigby & Co. have attuned my appreciation for the well-made and also the well-loved.
Props Galore houses so many fine antique items that highlight the incredible workmanship of bygone eras and in some cases their innumerable former owners, that handling even the most anodyne object is a great pleasure. Matching these to our clients’ needs for such varied and interesting projects is most enjoyable work and I am looking forward to spotting our items on the small and big screens with great anticipation.
My favourite item in Props Galore at the moment is Dr. Watson’s sword stick from Sherlock Holmes (2009), seeing that on my first day reassured me that I was in the right place.
Outside of work I spend my weekends cycling to castles, restoring old tools and baking.
