New Stock To Go With A New Website

Though we’re groaning under the weight of our gorgeous collection, we still can’t resist adding something new to excite our clients and our latest spree has been a particularly successful one.

We’ve focused primarily on pieces for our ‘Continental’ department in recent months and as a result, there’s even greater depth of stock and therefore more choice on things like lighting and occasional furniture.

Images and details of each new purchase are added to our website stock database so you can add them to your enquiries from day one. We also add the images to our ‘New Stock’ gallery so you can find them all in one place. Better yet, come in and see them in the showrooms, they look even better in the flesh!

Just when you thought we had enough decorative occasional tables, this gilt bronze, Italian table (circa 1850) with a porphyry marble top, made one more. With its deep pink top and decorative frieze edge, it looks like it has always belonged in our Reception area. It’s a fine example of a Grand Tour souvenir.

Not to be outdone, our four new carved and gilded Baroque lanterns have created a stunning focal point in the Large Showroom and are conjuring up memories of floating along canals in Venice. Too theatrical? Ok, back to the facts, they’re from around 1750 and are nearly one metre high and half a metre wide each.

But by far the piece de resistance are two imposing statues of the Greek mythological figure Atlas, condemned to a life ‘holding up the heavens’, or in this case a stunning gilded globe and armillary sphere. At almost two and a half metres tall they’d certainly make an impact. We’re very proud to have them as part of the collection and can’t wait to see how they’ll be used on set for the first time.

These pieces, and all our other new stock, can be found on the ‘New Stock’ page of our website.

It’s just one of the useful features on our newly designed website. We launched some time ago after many months of work and couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. Still a work in progress, we’re always adding bigger, better images of the collection so you can see exactly what our pieces look like without having to leave the comfort of your office. Many pieces now have multiple images so you can see the item from different angles and get the most accurate representation of its colour and condition. Another feature that’s proving popular among our clients is the ability to add items to a ‘Wish List’ so that you can come back to and edit your selection of items before submitting the finished enquiry.
