I have worked at Spiller’s for over thirty years, and such is the extent of the stock that, although I’m familiar with the paintings and the watercolours, some of the more obscure prints can still take me by surprise.

My favourites change from time to time, currently it is a small view of the Villa D’Este in Tivoli from 1846, though in my office I prefer to have rather more modern abstracts from the 1950s and 1960s.

After all this time, it’s still a pleasure to see one of our paintings on the screen, or in a photograph, and I always applaud the good taste of those who chose them!
